Coolant Filters

Magnetic Separators for Coolant Filtration

CoolantFilters.com provides high-performance magnetic separators engineered to remove ferrous contaminants from metalworking fluids automatically without consumables. These systems improve coolant quality, protect equipment, and reduce maintenance downtime keeping your machining operations efficient and productive.

How Magnetic Separators Work

Coolant or oil from the machining process flows — either by gravity or pump — into the Automag Magnetic Separator, where it first enters a calming diffuser chamber. This chamber slows and stabilizes the fluid flow, allowing uniform contact with the separator’s rotating magnetic blades.

As the fluid passes through, high-intensity magnetic fields capture ferrous particles and fine sludge directly from the coolant stream. The rotating magnetic blades continually attract and collect these contaminants, ensuring maximum particle removal efficiency.

When the blades rotate past the scraper plate assembly, the collected ferrous sludge is automatically removed from the magnetic surface. The scraped material accumulates on an angled slide, where gravity causes it to discharge into a designated waste collection area.

Meanwhile, the clean coolant flows through the bottom outlet of the separator into a holding tank, ready to be returned to the process or directed to a secondary filtration stage, such as a Gravity Bed Coolant Filter for complete system purification.

Model

Automag

Automag Magnetic Stainless-Steel Separators deliver powerful magnetic sludge removal for ferrous machining applications, operating efficiently with both emulsions and neat oils — all without the need for disposable filter media.
Built for performance and flexibility, these modular systems can be used as standalone magnetic filters or seamlessly integrated with paper filtration or self-cleaning systems to enhance overall coolant cleanliness. By capturing ferrous particles before they reach downstream filtration stages, Automag separators maximize system efficiency, extend coolant and tool life, and reduce maintenance costs.
Durable stainless-steel construction and high-intensity magnetic cores ensure long-term reliability in demanding metalworking environments. Whether installed inline or as a secondary filtration stage, Automag provides continuous, maintenance-free separation of fine ferrous contaminants.
